Free Form Friday: Proper Friends

I'm in DC this weekend, my old stomping grounds, to share some time with dear friends and help fete the impending arrival of a baby!  Last night, I had the delicious pleasure of sitting around, catching up with some of the world's best friends, drinking wine, and laughing until I cried, repeatedly.  Life is good.

And in testament to what good friends they are, they also gave me The Blue Book by Emily Post, copyright 1937!  I kept everyone entertained by sporadically reading a choice passage that made us think, and/or giggle.  For instance, a well-kept home must have, at a minimum, a cook, butler, and maid.  I mean, to live any differently would be, well, improper.  (Wow, right?)

I hope you laugh until you cry this weekend,

What a wonderful week, and a terrific weekend–enjoy every moment!

As for old etiquette books, they're my favorite–terribly offensive, and so hysterical!

Oh, you must share the gems one day in a post.
